BE A PART OF IT… HELP OZZY'S JOURNEY

by Clearwater Marine Aquarium

The approximate cost for the tag which includes software, monthly charges and additional fees is $10,000. In partnership with Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC), CMA has purchased a Sir Track satellite tag to monitor Ozzy after her release. This is the first time that CMA has ever utilized this technology for one of their released animals. Ozzy’s satellite tag will send out signals to the CMA team, allowing the aquarium to observe how their rehabilitated turtles behave once they are released back to the wild.

Your donation will not only help Ozzy, it will allow CMA to continue this program for other rehabilitated and released sea turtles.

About Ozzy

On November 23, 2013, Ozzy was found caught up in fishing line and a crab trap rope in open water off of Pasco County, Florida. She was transported to CMA for immediate treatment. Through Platelet Rich Plasma therapy and wound care, she regained her strength under the watchful eye of the turtle team.  After passing several veterinary tests to assess her deep water swimming and ability to hunt for food, Ozzy was cleared for release.
